Coral & Fish Viewing

Around 250 species of coral and 500 species of fish thrive in the crystal clear waters of the Ningaloo Reef, many of them only metres from shore. Enjoy this marine wonderland close up through large glass panels in a flat bottomed boat built especially for Coral Bay's shallow waters. Tours depart daily.

Snorkelling
snorkel Snorkel amongst the delicate coral formations and thrill to the abundance of exotic and brilliantly coloured reef fish, manta rays and - if you are lucky enough - turtles, giant clams and eels. Snorkelling areas start right on the beach, or take one of the tours that depart daily.
Ningaloo Adventure Tours
Dugong Spend 4-5 hours searching for dolphins, turtles and dugongs, then try a spot of fishing or snorkelling (gear provided). Snacks and light refreshments are provided on-board.
Whale Watching
whale watching Journey out beyond Ningaloo Reef between July and November to see the magnificent humpback, southern right and minke whales migrating north to calve. Humpbacks are sometimes seen standing on their heads for up to two hours, with their tails three to four metres in the air.
Whale Sharks
whale shark Experience the thrill of a lifetime by swimming with these magnificent fish, the world's largest and known to reach 12 metres long in the waters around Ningaloo Reef. Large numbers of whale sharks appear close to shore usually between March and June, but the season can extend significantly in some years.
Manta Rays
manta ray Coral Bay is one of the few places in the world where you can snorkel and interact with manta rays all year round.
Dolphins
dolphin Bottlenose, humpbacked and common dolphins are best seen in the shallow offshore waters immediately south of Coral Bay. Bottlenose dolphins are the species most likely to interact with humans. Other dolphin species can often be seen much further offshore.
Fishing
fishing With its abundant sea life, Coral Bay is an angler's paradise where you have the choice of casting a line from easily accessible beaches, or deep sea fishing in the waters beyond the reef. Please note that fishing is not permitted in sanctuary zones.
Swimming
swim and snorkle Because it is protected by the reef, the beach at Coral Bay is both fun and safe. Many kilometres of white, sandy beaches stretch north and south of the Coral Bay townsite. Swimming is enjoyable all year round, with water temperatures ranging from 19°c to 28°c.
Boating
boat launch A launching area for small boats is provided at the main Coral Bay beach.
Diving
scuba dive Ningaloo Reef Dive offers a wide range of recreational adventure diving services from the novice diver to the experienced diver on a wide variety of dive sites. Learn to dive on the fantastic Ningaloo Reef.

Cape Range National Park
cape range Located approximately two hours north of Coral Bay along a sealed road. The coastal attractions of the park can only be reached along the Yardie Road. Features on the eastern side can be reached via the Charles Knife and Shothole Canyon roads.
